Mellor Appoint Managing Director

Mellor have announced that John Randerson has been promoted to Managing Director of Mellor Coachcraft. John has been appointed as a statutory director of both Woodall Nicholson Holdings Limited and Woodall Nicholson Limited. This comes as a result of John’s significant development of the Mellor division over the last two years in the role of General Manager.

Group CEO Geoff Hudson commented,

“Having enjoyed significant recent growth and investment in new products, which is scheduled to continue, Mellor has become increasingly important to the strategic development objectives for the group.
Whilst this is all exciting, it will of course be demanding so we need to further align our management team to deliver these objectives. It is acknowledged by the shareholders that Mellor deserves its own representation at the board table. John has done a commendable job for us since joining our team and we’re positive he’ll lead Mellor to new heights in 2017 and beyond”

About John Randerson

Mellor MD – John Randerson

John worked as a coach-builder in the warranty and after-sales department developing a wealth of practical knowledge. After a period of time spent in the manufacturing engineering department, John worked on new product introductions for Plaxton and latterly the Henlys Group, primarily in manufacturing management roles. Projects such as Bus 2000 and LMB for Plaxton were quickly utilised by Henlys North American Bluebird Corporation for whom John worked for 3 years, introducing left hand drive low floor buses into the Georgia based manufacturing facility.
Upon successful conclusion of these projects John worked for 10 years at Bluebird Vehicles, where he was an integral part of the team that developed the Tucana and Orion low floor mini-bus ranges, these products were revolutionary in that they provided a single step entry low floor mini-bus solution for the local authority and community transport sector.

Joining the Mellor team in 2014 as Operations Manager, John was subsequently promoted to General Manager and is now Managing Director of the division where he is now focused on growing the division with the further introduction of new products and will be ensuring the highly experienced and skilled team at Mellor continue to provide innovative options for low cost, lightweight and robust vehicles in the stage carriage, local authority and community transport sectors.
