Flittabus helps the community stay mobile

Flittabus Community Transport Limited has recently taken delivery of a Mellor bus based on a Mercedes Sprinter 513CDi Medium Wheelbase Coachbuilt from Mark Royle of Mellor Coachcraft.

Flittabus is a non profit making, self financing operation run by 35 unpaid volunteers who provide transport services to the local communities of Central Bedfordshire. The 16 seater bus will operate for 6 days a week to carry passengers to shops and town centres from village locations not normally covered by public transport.

John Thorp, one of the Flittabus volunteers, explained “Our service is a lifeline to many of our elderly passengers who only manage to get out of the house once a week for trips to the supermarket, doctors etc. Without Flittabus many people would be housebound. It is very much a community service.”

Mellor Coachcraft is proud to be the chosen coachbuilder by such a wonderful organisation that needs a reliable and dependable vehicle for their day to day work.
