A fantastic reaction and a thumbs-up from major bus operators & local authorities alike

At a special preview event in March at the UTAC proving ground in Millbrook, Mellor presented models from its game-changing, all-electric Sigma range to key bus operators and Local Authorities. After pandemic restrictions curtailed a full launch event at the end of last year, over 60 key operators from the UK and Europe flocked to Bedfordshire over two days to get their hands on the new Sigma for the first time. The result, a resounding thumbs-up and a fantastic response to the latest electric bus product in the UK!

With some of the industry’s most prominent individuals in attendance, and from many of the UK’s major fleets, two Sigma models – a 7-metre and 10-metre variant – were presented to guests to garner valuable feedback. Operators benefited from an on-board experience with both vehicles as they were put through their paces around Millbrook’s world-class test-track facilities. Feedback from operators confirmed that the Sigma 7 excelled on Millbrook’s challenging City Course and Outer Handling circuit while the larger Sigma 10 impressed on the Alpine Route and High-Speed Circuit. All agreed that Sigma is set to raise the bar for electric bus travel in the UK.

With resoundingly positive endorsements and with plenty of serious sales enquiries resulting from the preview day, the Mellor team is now busy assessing feedback, while looking forward to taking orders for the new, all-electric bus range. Deliveries are expected to commence later this year.
